On poster boards in the temporary morgue are ID sheets for each victim of the plane crash in "Black Buddha, Part One".

For each person who died in the plane crash in "Black Buddha, Part One", Dr. Lambert and her assistants prepared a victim ID sheet.

They then posted the sheets on free-standing poster boards set up in the hangar that serves as a temporary morgue. Gradually, the ID sheets were filled in as the remains were identified. It seems likely that, as this happened, the sheets were shifted around so that those representing victims who had been identified could be consolidated.

At the time that Dets. Nick Knight and Tracy Vetter go to the temporary morgue, only three people remain unaccounted for; and their ID sheets remain posted separately from the others. Two of these people were seated over the wing; the remaining person is actually a vampire, who survived the crash.

ID Sheets[]

The ID sheets for Amanda Cohen and Don Schanke.

Each ID sheet consists of a single sheet of white paper, filled out on one side only.

Wherever possible, a photograph of the dead person is at the top of the page. Sufficient space is allowed for quite a large photograph; and, in some instances, it occupies more than half the sheet. (This is true, for example, of the photographs of Nick's partner, Don Schanke, and boss, Capt. Cohen.) However, not all the photographs are that large; and there are a few ID sheets that lack a photograph.

Underneath the photograph (where present) there is a data section.

  • At the top, on the left, is a space labelled Victim #:, filled in with an identification number that has been assigned to the deceased.
  • On the same line, on the right, is the word IDENTIFIED followed by a pair of spaces labelled Y (yes) and N (no).
  • The rest of the page is filled by a box with ten spaces to be filled in. These are arranged as a double column, with the one on the left side taking up about twice the width as the one on the right. The left side has spaces for the name of the deceased, their next of kin, (probably) their address, and their phone number. It is not possible to make out what the final space is for, nor is it possible to make out what the spaces on the right side are for.
