Nancy Leung is the key witness for the Immigration Naturalization Service case against a Chinese gang. (According to the script for the episode, she had been a mule for a Hong Kong crime family.) Attacked and wounded, she is hidden by a friend, Dr. Chung. Nick finds Nancy, gets medical help to her, and saves her from the gang, only to be immobilized and threatened with death by Dr. Chung, who accuses Nick of having killed Chung's mother in San Francisco in 1916.
