Some years after the fall of Rome, in the Dark Ages, LaCroix meets a hermit who is living on a lonely island.

NotesEdit

• Written as a treat for kynical in Yuletide 2011. Length: 1186 words.
• The story provides an explanation for the character's use of the name "LaCroix" (which means "the cross"). In addition, his use of "Lucian" (rather than "Luke") as his first name is accounted for by making "Lucius Divius Lucianus" his original Roman name.
