The Raven is a nightclub in downtown Toronto that, unbeknownst to its human patrons, is also frequented by vampires. Indeed, it acts as a sort of bed-and-breakfast to vampires from out of town who, for one reason or another, have not made prior arrangements to stay elsewhere. They are accommodated in the basement.
For the first two seasons of the show, the Raven was owned by Janette; but she then left Toronto, handing her club over to LaCroix, with the request that he maintain it as a refuge.
